2/26

Captain Matt called in to say it was a solid day of local codfishing. A decent ground of anglers came down with the warm temperatures to find some nice green cod. Captain Mike found a nice pile of fish and beat up on them for a few hours. Fishing slowed down a little and Mike went on the hunt. Mike found fish every where he went and was very happy with that he was seeing. There were many limits around the boat and everyone had a nice batch of fish to go home with. Pool fish today was around 15pounds. The short cod were also out in force looking for a quick meal and were all released safely. There will be no trip tomorrow due to Gale fore winds but right now Thursday-Sunday look fishable. Please call the office and make a reservation.

2/24 update

Tomorrow Monday Feb. 25th there will not be a cod trip. The weather for Tuesday look good and we plan on sailing at 3am. Please call the office to make a reservation for the trip.

2/23

Captain Mike called in to say it was another decent day on the local cod ground. About the same bite as yesterday with a few less shorts mixed in.  The fish were a little bit bigger today then yesterday.High hook managed to box 7 keepers of the 21 fish he caught for the day. Lots of action on the ground with the mix of cod and ling. We have been very lucky and have only gotten a few of the “grey ghost” but nothing like we had last year. We will not be sailing tomorrow but the weather does look OK for the upcoming week. Please call the office to book a reservation for any of our upcoming trips.

2/22

Captain Mike called in to say it was a good day of local codfishing. A vast improvement to what we saw post Nemo. Anglers were treated a nice batch of healthy green codfish. Lots of shorts kept anglers busy all day long. Some ling also made it in to the coolers today. We will be sailing tomorrow morning at 3am on the Gail Frances. The office will open at 2am for ticket and tackle sales.

2/16

Captain Chris report a very slow cod trip yesterday. He marked fish everywhere he went but they just seemed to have lockjaw. A handful of small cod and a few ling were caught vut it was a very slow day. The water seemed to still be dirty from the past weekends storm. We will not be sailing on monday but it looks like we will be trying to sail on tuesday.

2/15

Captain Matt called in to say it was a slow grind on the cod fish today. The morning bite was slow. Some fish came up early but it was not the morning bite we were hoping for. Captain Mike found fish at every spot he tried just not in the numbers he was hoping for. High hook honors went to none other then Mr. Pak with 8 fine green fish.Pool fish today was around 12 pounds.  Quite a few shorts keep anglers busy while they were waiting to fill up the coolers. The Lady Frances is scheduled to set sail tomorrow morning at 3am. The office will open at 2am for ticket and tackle sales.

NEW SAILING TIME 3AM
We are changing our sailing time from 5am to 3am. Seems that there is more of a dark/pre light bite going on and we would like to capitalize on it.  The Lady Frances is scheduled to set sail tomorrow morning at 3am. The office will be open for ticket and tackle sales at 2am.

Just wanted to give people a heads up of the following forecast. The boats made it out fine from winter storm Nemo but we have no power. The boats have about 2 feet of snow and the roads are terrible. There will be NO trip on sunday. Our next trip probably wont be until Wed. Hope everyone is safe from the storm. We will keep you updated on our next cod trip.
