Owner Christine Blount reported a solid morning of half day fishing with a decent amount of nice size fluke to over 5 lbs hitting the deck on the Lady Frances. Fishers also had some nice sea bass and action with the short fluke and short sea bass. Hi hook boxed a limit catch of fluke. Nice to see a little bit of improvement with the fluke the past few days! The Pm fluke trip produced some beautiful sea bass with many fishers aboard getting a limit catch and a few handfuls of big beautiful summer flounder. Deckhand Danny on a busman’s holiday managed a fine brace of jumbo’s with the big one weighed in on the calibrated certified office scale at 8.6 lbs after she had been bled out and was resting on a bed of ice in the X tote. Two half days on tap tomorrow with the first at 8 am and the second at 1pm, both aboard the Lady Frances. Weather looks great and right now still plenty of room on both!
FIRST WHALE WATCH OF THE SEASON A GREAT SUCCESS!! PLENTY OF FINBACK WHALES PUT ON A GREAT SHOW FOR THE CUSTOMERS ABOARD!! WAY TO GO CAPT. MIKE!! IN ADDITION THERE WERE LOTS OF BAIT BIRDS (STORM PETRELS) ETC AND ALL WERE FEEDING ON VAST SHOALS OF SAND EELS!
Still a handful of spots left on tonight’s Independence Day Fireworks Cruise. Call the office for further details.
Capt. Rich reported a gorgeous day of weather but perhaps it was too nice. An easy boat limit of sea bass to at least 4 lbs but due to almost no drift the fluke kept a lower profile. Still some nice ones were caught with the biggest just a shade under 7 lbs. Great weather on tap again tomorrow and Capt. Rich will set sail at 7 am for fluke and sea bass aboard the Gail Frances.
