Capt. Mike reported an excellent morning of fishing with a lot of nice quality fluke taken. A lot of beautiful fish in the 3 to 4 lb range. Not as many sea bass taken but still a respectable showing for the fishers aboard. More details to follow! In general the half day fishing has stepped up nicely over the past few days with more fluke and sea bass limits and more and more fishers going home with some beautiful fresh fillets. We hope this trend continues! The big fish yesterday afternoon was 8.6 lbs after being bled out and being put to rest on a bed of ice in the big fish box in the stern. Taken by first mate Danny Beck on a busman’s holiday. Way to go Danny! Picture courtesy of Roger.
Another good half day report for the afternoon trip. The sea bass won out over the fluke but most fishers left with beautiful fillets for at least a few good meals in the near future. Two half days on tap tomorrow with the first set to sail at 8 am and the second at 1pm.
Word from the full day 7 am fluke/sea bass trip was of an easy full boat limit of nice size sea bass and a decent shot of fluke. Big fish of the day not in the pool tipped the scales at nearly ten pounds. Pool fish was however a solid six pounder. There were at least three angler limits on the fluke. Biggest on the sea bass in the four pound range and lots of solid three pound sea bass. Sounds like a pretty nice day of fishing! Capt. Rich will set sail tomorrow morning on the Gail at 7 am. A few beautiful pictures provided by a customer who was fishing on the boat yesterday who chose to stay anonymous.
After a near two week hiatus we will be back out after night time bass tonight. A fresh report for bass enthusiasts tomorrow morning.
