Roger reported a nice day aboard the Lady Frances today. The cod made a respectable showing but it was the rainbow wide assortment of other delicious bottom fish that really brought the trip together. Biggest cod in the mid teens. One fisher had 5 keepers and longtime regular and exceptional rod handler Dave Walden from CT boxed 4 keeper cod for hi hook honors. A few hundred ling of all sizes including some real baseball bats, some huge sea flounder to 4 lbs, a dozen or more nice size white hake into the low teens, lots of super size ocean perch and a few whiting pleased patrons aboard today and all of these great eating ground fish had both Capt. Matt and first mate Chris L cutting the entire way back to the dock. Next cod trip on August 20th has one spot left. A couple pics courtesy of Roger.
Capt. Rich reported a good day of fluke and sea bass fishing today with quite a few fluke limits and some real quality fish in the 4 to 6 lb range. Some slammer sea bass too and a bunch of sea bass limits. Much better on the fluke than the past few days! Capt. Matt will set sail tomorrow on the Gail Frances at 7 am.
Capt. George had a nice bunch of sea bass and some nice fluke for a sold out half day crowd this morning. Sounds like the sea bass and at least a few fluke are pleasing anglers this afternoon. Some pictures courtesy longtime regular customer Ginny Reed.
