Owner Capt. Frank Blount and General Manager Capt. Cory Blount would like to let all of the Tuna fishers, who are booked on the first trip of the season, that they are both closely monitoring the weather for the upcoming trip. A decision regarding a trip that sails Tuesday Night weather permitting would likely not be made until at the earliest sometime Tuesday late morning or early afternoon. We ask that fishers do not call and inquire about the weather before Monday evening.
Captain Mike reported a good morning half day trip. Plenty of sea bass came over the rails making for some full bags and smiling faces. The morning had a very fast drift which made for a little slower fishing but once the wind let go a little be the bites were coming more frequent. The afternoon saw a little bit better fishing in the beginning and the later drifts were on the slow side. 11 year old Leo Paragarino won the pool in the afternoon with a fluke around 4 pounds We will sailing both half day trips weather permitting until labor day. A few photos from owner/fisher Christine.
Captain Rich reported whole squid was the way to go on the full day fluke boat. The fast drift made for perfect squidding conditions. High hooks reported limits of both fluke and sea bass. Pool fish was a solid 8 pound fish taken on whole squid. Seems like the fluke are showing up a little thicker at the end of the season. We do plan on sailing daily weather permitting until Sept 16th.
Captain Matt reported a struggle on the last night of bass fishing. We had high hopes with the end of season push of fish but they were just not on the chew. We will no longer have any night fishing trips with our tuna season starting. We would like to thanks everyone for there support this years in a season
