Captain Mike reported a decent night on the squid grounds. The wind at the start of the trip made more less then ideal squid condition. It was a slow slow pick through the night with the squid really down right off the bottom. Once the wind let go they started to be much more active. High hooks reported catching upwards of 100 squid. Some did not fair so well with only having a handful. Squid fish does take some practice and a little knowledge. We will be sailing tonight at 7pm by reservation only.
Captain Rich reported a slow day on the fluke grounds. We had a great turn out of anglers for the nice holiday weekend. The wind machine kept on blowing and seems like it was on high at times. The fast drift made it tough to keep the jigs on the bottom. High hook had 4 keepers and the pool fish was around 6 pounds. We are planning to sail tomorrow morning at 7am.
Captain Mike was at the helm on the seasons first half day trips and reported slower fishing on the beach. We marketed alot of bait but were moving to fast over the grounds. We did mange some keepers and shorts and a pile of sea robins. We are scheduled to sail tomorrow on both half day trips.
