First mate Cote reported VASTLY improved Striper fishing last night aboard the Lady Frances. It was the best night of the season thus far While there was not a lot of bass taken, it was the most we have had yet and they were mostly all big with all but one fish falling between 25 and 36 lbs with most over 30 lbs!! Quite a few nice size blue fish between six and ten pounds as well mixed in making for a nice night of fishing with some anglers taking upwards to a half dozen or more good size choppers apiece!!. It was nice to see an increase in bass and have an action packed evening to boot! Pictures of last night’s much improved outing courtesy deck hand Derrick! The Striper trip for tonight is SOLD OUT!! Plenty of room on Wednesday Night’s outing at 7pm, so if interested call or book online.
Capt. Mike reported the half day morning trip saw some great action on the sea bass. A fair number of sea bass limits and lots of quality fish up to nearly 4 lbs. A few handfuls of fluke mixed in as well both keepers and shorts. Plenty of short sea bass to keep anglers amused as well. Two half days on tap tomorrow with the first to set sail at 8 am and the second at 1 pm. Back to back half days can net an angler $15 off the second trip in the afternoon. Both trips are set to sail on the Lady Frances. The weather looks great with optimum drifting conditions!
First mate Greg reported the Jeff Neurath full day charter aboard the Admiral Frances was successful today with a good bite in the beginning and a good shot at the end of the trip with a slow pick in between. A nice mix of fluke and sea bass but nothing huge. Still some nice bags of fillets for anglers to take home. Still some prime dates available for private charter so call the office if interested and ask to speak to Tammy Roger or Cory for further booking details.
Capt. Mike reported an awesome Whale Watch with a great show put on by a pair of rarely seen SPERM WHALES!! Customers were overjoyed! Whale Watches are scheduled Tuesdays, Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays through most of the summer. Call to make a reservation or book online.
First mates Capt. Cory and Chris L reported a good day of fishing aboard the Gail Frances. Mr. Koon had a full limit of fluke while Mr. Shin from Hackensack NJ took the pool with a fine 10.25 lb slab which fell for an unspecified buck tail, officially weighed in Capt. Tackle by Roger on the office’s certified scale. Well done Mr. Shin!! A picture of this beast will appear courtesy of Roger. Quite a few sea bass limits around the boat as well today with sizes to 4 lbs and there were also several other big fluke over 5 lbs. A few scup kept as well and customers threw back lots of small scup, short sea bass and short fluke. The best scores with bigger fluke and bigger sea bass were made using hi lo buck tail rigs. Weather sounds awesome for tomorrow with a pleasant breeze to keep the boat moving and Capt. Rich will be ready to set sail at 7am aboard the Gail Frances.
