Roger reported the morning half day finished up nice with lots of sea bass of various size, some nice porgies and a few fluke. A few of the porgies taken were true brutes in the 2 lb plus category! The catching was very busy towards the end and the keeping was on a gradual incline. It was a picturesque summer morning on the water. Just one half day fishing trip tomorrow with the Lady Frances set to sail at 8 am.
Just a handful of night bass positions left to sell so if interested please call the office to make a reservation. Last night was very slow unfortunately but tonight is a new night and a new report will be up in the morning.
Great news from Andy Thompson on his full day charter aboard the Admiral Frances as his crew had an awesome day on the water with Capt. Matt and they had a near boat limit of good size sea bass along with plenty of fluke to nearly 8 lbs. Quite a few of the sea bass were jumbos over 2 lbs with the best upwards to nearly 4 lbs and many of the fluke were also in the jumbo category with the four to five pound size not at all uncommon on the Admiral Frances today. Both rental rods and buck tail set ups were producing very well according to first mate Troy. Tremendous numbers of short sea bass and some short fluke kept things about as busy as could be. A few blue fish and anglers also saw a few blue sharks sunning themselves on the surface. Still plenty of prime dates available for private charter so if interested call the office and ask to speak to Tammy, Roger or Cory for further booking details.
Capt. Mike W came in today to report on a great full day of fishing aboard the Gail Frances with a very enthusiastic turnout of anglers. First mate Capt. Nicky reported a full boat or near full boat limit of good size sea bass with many fish in the 2 to 4 lb range. Some anglers managed as many as a dozen nice size sea bass apiece (orl). Quite a few good size fluke as well with three fish in the 9 lb range according to Capt. Nicky duking it out for pool honors with John from CT narrowly beating out Mr. Kim in that category. Both of those slobs taken on buck tail jigs of some sort. First mate Chris L said there were at least 20 fluke taken that were five pounds or greater in size!! A number of anglers had as many as four and five good size fluke apiece in addition to their sea bass. All forms of terminal gear had some success however buck tail set ups probably caught the best overall. Plenty of short sea bass and some short fluke kept anglers busy in between the keepers today. Great weather again tomorrow and Capt. Rich looks forward to another pleasurable day on the water with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7am.
Capt. Mike reported another awesome Whale Watch trip with Humpback Whales and Finback Whales providing the excitement today! In fact anglers even got to look at a Hammerhead Shark which is a sure sign of plenty of feed and warming summer waters. Next Whale Watch trip sets sail tomorrow afternoon at 1pm. The weather looks awesome and there is still plenty of room so if interested call the office to make a reservation and come on down!!
