The details from the latest Tuna trip are as follows: A relatively modest crowd had a good catch of good size Yellow fin in the 60 to 90 lb range, a 125 lb Big Eye, a few Albacore and a few Mahi. Tonight’s trip is a go and there will be a fresh report up sometime Sunday Afternoon. Still plenty of room on some upcoming trips, a deposit commitment is MANDATORY when trips are booked within a week before the sail date.
Roger reported Porgy fishing today was respectable today however there were some challenges. There was a screaming tide running towards the stern and the bite consequently was only in the stern. Those in the stern managed 15 to 25 nice scup apiece. No monsters with the biggest around 1.5 lbs. One angler did manage thirty nice porgies for hi hook. Average size was around a pound. A few nice sea bass early on but then it was all scup. Biggest sea bass close to 3 lbs. Scup trips at 7 am with Capt. Ray at the helm of the Admiral Frances are scheduled for both days this weekend. A couple pics provided by Roger.
First mate Chris L reported improved fishing today on the Gail Frances with a MUCH better showing of fluke with several of them between four and five pounds. A decent amount of sea bass with a bunch of them between two and three pounds with a few up to 4 lbs. A decent amount of slammer scup with sizes to 3.5 lbs!! One blue fish to top things off. The weather was gorgeous today and we had a great turnout of regulars who fish with us all season. Tomorrow is a new day and Capt. Rich will be ready to set sail on the Gail Frances at 7 am.
