Roger reported the squid fishing was rather slow last night. After a great night prior we were very bummed out and cannot offer any explanation as to why. There was a slight uptick in action very late in the evening. A few anglers were more dialed in and had upwards to 35-45 pieces apiece but just a few with most having less. Generally speaking good size stuff but just not in the numbers needed. We try again this evening with the Gail Frances set to sail at 7pm with Capt. Ray at the helm. Please call the office today to make a reservation.
First mate Chris L reported another very strong day aboard the Gail Frances full day Fluke boat however the fish were not quite as spread out as we would have liked. We did record our first angler limit of the season and that lucky angler also had the two biggest fluke on the boat with a brace of jumbos in the 6 lb range! Another angler had six keepers and then the rest had from none to 3 or 4 each. A total of a half dozen jumbos today on the Gail Frances. Some throwbacks as well. A few more fish on bait rigs today but buck tailing was the way to go. No specifics were given to the office regarding color and sizes on the jigs although yesterday white was mentioned. Photos showcasing a few angler hi lights provided courtesy of first mate Chris L. Next trip sets sail on the Gail Frances tomorrow morning at 7am with Capt. Rich at the helm.
A half day charter aboard the Admiral Frances this morning produced a handful of keepers and a bunch of throwbacks for a handful of anglers along the beach. Great sign to see some fish starting to show up inside and bodes well for our half day trips which begin tomorrow morning at 8am aboard the Lady Frances. Half Days just weekends and holiday (Memorial Day) til the third week of June sailing two trips 8 am to Noon and 1pm to 5pm.
