Squid trip is a GO tonight. The Gail Frances will set sail at 7:00 p.m. Roger will have the office open to check in and to buy any squid jigs you may need.
First mate Troy reported an excellent day of fluke fishing aboard the Gail Frances today for a relatively light crowd of fluke enthusiasts. With the exception of just a couple of anglers, everyone else on board had at least three to five nice keepers apiece to take home with a few having six apiece and two anglers tying hi hook honors at boxing 7 good fluke apiece including longtime regular Tony Pak from NJ!! Well done Tony!! Congrats to longtime regular customer Scott Gerrard from CT who took the pool with a fine 7 lb slab. There were a handful of other nice fluke in the 4 to 5 lb range and most of the fish fell into the 19 to 21 inch category that were keepers. Quite a few shorts as well to keep things moving right along with some anglers returning as many as 20 young fluke apiece back to the ocean! It was generally all about buck tailing today. Bait rigs just did not catch today for whatever reason. The fluke were reported to be full of squid and there were a few sand eels noted as well. Tomorrow Capt. Rich will be at the helm of the Gail Frances ready to set sail at 7am for fluke.
