First mate Derek reported that Capt. Ray and crew were very pleased with the Night fishing experienced last night. Considering some of the gloom and doom reports that we have fielded from the small boat fleet we consider first night of fishing successful. A decent number of keepers and some shorts including two fine keepers in the 25 lb range that fought it out for bragging rights. Hopeful for continued improvement on these Night time outings. Several great pictures courtesy deckhand Greg. Thanks Greg! Just one nice blue fish last night. Plenty of room tonight and the weather looks amazing with Capt. Ray set to sail at 7pm aboard the Lady Frances. Please call the office to make a reservation.
Deckhand Connor McDermott told of a really nice day of fishing aboard the Gail Frances with a wild morning bite reminiscent of the “old days” according to first mate Chris L! Mammoth sea bass to 5 lbs and fluke up to 8 lbs were hitting the deck of the Gail Frances at a nice pace. Then the drift slowed up and the catch rate along with it for the fluke however the sea bass continued to oblige with an easy boat limit. A decent number of anglers boxed four to six keepers apiece today with hi hook putting seven good keepers in his cooler. A nice amount of action producing short fluke as well today. Connor reported that a respectable amount of the fluke taken were close to or exceeding the jumbo size (4 lbs). Both bait rigs and buck tails were reported to be working well today by the mates aboard the Gail Frances. Pool fish today was taken by longtime regular customer Sung Koo from Stoors CT who decked a fine 8 lb slab. Photo courtesy of Roger. Capt. Rich will set sail tomorrow morning at 7 am aboard the Gail Frances.
Capt. Mike reported a nice morning of half day fishing with plenty of fish bending rods for an enthusiastic group of fishers aboard the Lady Frances. A hefty amount of keeper fluke, plenty of action producing shorties and quite a few nice sea bass plus the usual sea robins and a few sand sharks kept interest levels up as well. Biggest fluke was around 5 lbs. Capt. Mike was out on the afternoon trip and reported that the fishing was also very good with a nice amount of keeper fluke and a near boat limit of nice size sea bass plus plenty of short fluke and short sea bass, sea robins and even a few sand sharks to keep things very busy and rods bent up and down the Admiral Frances. Biggest fluke just under four pounds. Two half days on tap for tomorrow with the first set to sail at 8 am aboard the Lady Frances and the second at 1pm aboard the Admiral Frances. Back to back half days can net an angler a $15 discount off the second trip.
Capt. Keith reported a good day of Whale Watching aboard the Lady Frances. Plenty of room available on tomorrow’s Whale Watch trip so if interested call the office to make a reservation.
