Finally a little better news again in regards to night fishing. The fishing the folks aboard the Lady Frances experienced last night was remarkably improved from recent outings as anglers did connect with a handful of keeper bass, a couple blue fish, a keeper fluke and caught and released a very respectable number of short bass. Some of the bass were covered in lice indicating a new batch of fish may very well be moving into the area. Diamond jigs were the way to go and not so much the eels last night, probably due to all the sand eels recently. Hopefully this uptick will continue forward for this evening’s fishing as well and the weeks to come. Plenty of room still left on tonight’s run so please call the office to make a reservation if interested in going.
A healthy turnout of fishers this morning on the half day and the sea bass were generally cooperative and anglers also had some nice fluke mixed in as well. This afternoon saw a bit more in the way of fluke and also some nice sea bass. Both outings had sea bass in the 3 to 4 lb range. Some better size fluke up to 5 lbs on the afternoon trip. Two half days tomorrow with the first to set sail at 8am aboard the Lady Frances and the second at 1pm aboard the Lady Frances as well. Back to back half days can net an angler a $15 discount off the second outing.
The report from the full day on the Gail Frances today was of some tough drift conditions and much slower fishing today. Some nice fluke were caught with longtime regular Hahn from East Longmeadow MA taking the pool with a jumbo fluke just a shade under 7 lbs and there were a handful of other fluke over 4 lbs. A respectable amount of keeper sea bass as well. After all the really good fishing over the past few weeks it was bound to happen but tomorrow is a new day and Capt. Rich will set sail aboard the Gail Frances at 7am.
Another great Whale Watch today aboard the Lady Frances!! This historic year of Whale Watching just keeps rolling along and today patrons were entertained by a Fin Back calf who was very cooperative hanging out by the side of the Lady for awhile for all to get a really good look at. Whale Watching continues Tuesday Thursday Friday and Saturday’s at 1 pm by reservation.
