Roger was pleased to report that Capt. Rich had another great day aboard the Gail Frances. Plenty of nice cod were caught along with an increased number of sea bass and scup including a lot of good size sea bass in the 3 to 5 lb range with some anglers getting upwards to a limit catch of sea bass and some anglers upwards to a dozen nice scup. Many anglers aboard had three to six cod apiece, certainly there were some with less and there were some with a few more with hi hooks dangerously close to a limit catch on the cod fish. Plenty of good size ocean perch along with a few handfuls of red hake and a handful of small Mahi and some large sea flounder to 4 lbs rounded out the days catch. A fair number of the cod were fish in the 8 to 15 lb range with the best of the lot just under 20 lbs. A nice mix of dark and green fish. The fresh shucked bait was definitely the way to go. No cod fishing tomorrow due to the weather and stay tuned for updates on whether or not there will be a trip on Wednesday. Some pictures today provided courtesy of Roger.
