First mate Greg just reported in that a very enthusiastic crowd of squid enthusiasts enjoyed a really enthusiastic bite from the squid last night, and the real big squid were back in force! Buckets and coolers filled up and just about everyone aboard was at least moderately successful. The fishing was quite a bit improved over the night before which was as good as any trip we had last year. Needless to say this season thus far has provided the best results squid fishing in a couple to perhaps even several years. We look forward to continued success for some time to come! Squid fishing sails Wednesday through Saturday Nights by reservation AND WE ARE ADDING A MEMORIAL DAY EVE SQUID SPECIAL SQUID TRIP NEXT SUNDAY NIGHT BY RESERVATION AT 7PM!! There have been a lot of inquiries as to which colors have been working the best but good catches have been made on just about all the different types of squid jigs that are commonly used. The Capt. Tackle shop is usually well stocked with an array of Yozuri squid jigs. Some great photos showcasing some of last night’s success courtesy of first mate Greg. Next squid trip will set sail this coming Wednesday evening at 7pm.
No fluke trip today, too bad the weatherman scared everyone away and the day turned out not so bad as the storm we heard about all week long slipped harmlessly to the southeast of the south coast. Tomorrow is the next full day Fluke trip and the Gail Frances will set sail at 7 am. We are excited at the prospects after the very good day Capt. Rich had yesterday.
